If you have voluntarily submitted your email address so that you can receive notifications of new posts, please be assured that the IHBC doesn't use your address for anything other than to do just that.

We currently use MailChimp to send newsletters. If you are an IHBC member, you have been signed up to receive these newsletters by us. If not a member, you are asked to consent to this usage when you sign up to receive the newsletter. In either case, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe or manage subscription links at the bottom of every email you receive. Our newsletters do not contain any third-party advertising other than notifications about events and other information that we think may be of interest to you. We do not make any money from these notices. Your data in regards to our newsletters is also governed by MailChimp’s own GDPR policy. You can find out more about that here.

This does not carry sponsored content, it has no ads for which the IHBC receives any form of payment. If there is a review a place or a restaurant, event or anything other than IHBC sponsored events, we don't receive any compensation from anyone. If anything changes regarding this, we will be sure to let you know.

In the future we are going to add the ability to pay for IHBC sponsored events such as the IHBC St. Patrick’s Day Gala dinner online. We will use a third-party payment processor, and such as Stripe or PayPal. We will not store any financial information on our site. Your rights regarding payments made online are governed by the policies of the payment processors.

We do use Google Analytics to track visits to our. This is stored so we can check stats to see how many visitors we’ve had, where people clicked from, and what they clicked on. That's it. Nothing more.

We reserve the right to delete comments that are offensive, particularly to other commenters. If you want to have one of your comments deleted, the please get in touch with us at: We’re all for the right to be forgotten so will happily oblige.

So, in a nutshell, if you give us your email address voluntarily to subscribe to newsletters or if you opt to subscribe to new comments, then you email is just used for this. Nothing else. We promise.
